John Collier was commissioned to create an 8-foot by 10-foot bas-relief of St. Ignatius of Loyola at Manresa, Spain. This beautiful bas-relief was created for the College of Holy Cross of Worcester, Massachusetts to reside in their new Joyce Contemplative Center. St. Ignatius is shown sitting at the mouth of his cave, writing his spiritual exercises. Looking closely you can see the river to the left in the background, a bridge across the river and a castle nearby.
